This mailbox is for feedback to improve the tax calendar. Due to Patriots Day on April 1 the deadline to file federal income tax returns in Maine and Massachusetts is pushed to this day. The Tax Calendar display now includes a calendar -month grid.

This grid can be disabled to show just a list of future events. Visually challenged users are encouraged to consider disabling the grid.

If you deposited the tax for the year timely, properly, and in full, you have until February to file the return. For a further choice visit Payroll calendars. For more payroll forms and free downloads visit. A “ tax year” is an annual accounting period for keeping records and reporting income and expenses. An annual accounting period does not include a short tax year.

The tax years you can use are: Calendar year - consecutive months beginning January and ending December 31. The IRS does not release a calendar , but continues to issue guidance that most filers should receive their refund within days. They also remind filers that many tax software programs allow you to submit your taxes before the start of tax season. The payments, also referred to by some as stimulus payments, are automatic for most taxpayers. March – Report tips of $or more to employer.

April – Report tips of $or more to employer. Pay any tax that is due, even if you file a 6-month extension of time to file. Different due dates apply to individuals and corporations, and certain individuals have due dates that do not pertain to others.
